LEARNED HELPLESSNESS. | Dr. Jekwu Ozoemene | TEDxPortHarcourt
On November 16, 2019, our Managing Director and CEO gave a TEDx Talk on “Learned Helplessness” at the TEDx Port Harcourt 2019 event themed “Every Thing Matters”
The Talk proposes that each of us should create an “Oasis of Excellence”.
That in the midst of anarchy, chaos and despair, those of us who want a better life can create an Oasis of Excellence within our immediate spheres of influence.
Creating an Oasis of Excellence is the simple idea that one person can make a difference, that everyone of us is a potential leader and game changer within our immediate environment of influence, and that the more of us who create these Oasis of Excellence, the higher the possibility that our ideas will form concentric circles and permeate the larger society.
The Oasis could be within our family, WhatsApp groups, our estate, school, or our office.
Are you in charge on any level in your immediate environment?
You do not have to be the boss, just be in a position to influence change.
If yes, what are those things you believe or have learnt are best practice, share and practice them with your family, colleagues, peers, anyone that you can influence.
Make it a point of duty to insist on those things as minimum acceptable standards.
